How to get your PG&E smart meter data:

1. Log into pge.com
2. Navigate to "View Usage", and make sure the chart showsElectricity
3. Click "Green Button Download my data" below the chart
4. Select "Export usage for a range of days"
5. Enter a period of at least 30 days and preferably 1 year
6. Select Format "CSV"
7. Select Export
8. This downloads a CSV file that can be imported to this tool

Using your own simple CSV file:

If you have access to your hourly or 15-minute electric usage data, you can create a simple CSV file with the following format:

1. Create a CSV file with two columns: DateTime and kWh
2. The DateTime column should contain timestamps in the format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM (e.g., 2023-01-15 14:30)
3. The kWh column should contain the energy usage in kilowatt-hours for each time interval
4. Include a header row with the column names: DateTime,kWh
5. Ensure readings are in chronological order
6. For best results, include at least 30 days of data, preferably a full year
7. Data intervals can be 15-minute or hourly

Example of the first few rows of a valid CSV file:

2023-01-01 00:00,0.45
